One of the more touching moments in the Christmas narrative comes after Mary, miraculously pregnant with the baby Jesus, journeys to visit her cousin, Elizabeth, who is also miraculously pregnant. Together, the two women recognise this honor and rejoice at the role they play in God’s plan.
